I will appear on the ABC Radio National's Bush Telegraph this Wednesday. International readers will be able to listen online and I will make a copy of the interview available via this blog.
This reminds me of the last time I spoke on ABC Radio National http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/lifematters/community-views-on-animal-cruelty/3585584
It was following the publication of my op ed piece 'Australia increasingly uncomfortable with animal cruelty' in The Conversation https://theconversation.edu.au/australia-increasingly-uncomfortable-with-animal-cruelty-3439.
In it I argued that when the community is made aware of animal suffering they respond with horror. We have seen this many times in the last year including the case of live animal exports to Indonesia, puppy mills in Victoria, and the recent expose of a slaughterhouse in Western Sydney.
The Australian media's interest in the issue also attests to changing community attitudes. I'm looking forward to Wednesday's interview.
